In late October, I attended our industry’s annual cleaning convention which was held this year in Dallas, Texas.  This convention is huge and packed with educational seminars geared toward professionals in the cleaning industry.  ARCSI, a division of ISSA, is geared toward Residential Cleaning companies and offers a wealth of information to keep its professionals up to date on the latest trends, procedures and products in order to maintain a high quality, professional house cleaning service.

For the second year in a row, I was honored to be on the Convention Committee where we help to put together a successful show for all who attend.  The seminars / classes offered covered a variety of topics so that no matter how big or small the business is, there is something for everyone.  This year, a popular speaker, David Goggins, a retired Navy Seal, former World Record holder and successful author, gave a motivational speech on endurance and overcoming life challenges.  We were also honored to hear speaker, advisor, author and former publisher of Success magazine, Darren Hardy and got to be a part of a lovely fireside chat with President George W. Bush.  At the final seminar of the week, I was a speaker on a panel of three business owners where I represented “mid-size” cleaning businesses.  We were interviewed on various aspects of owning a cleaning service business, and then answered questions from the audience.

One of the highlights for me was being nominated and winning “Best Uniform”!  We won this Professional Image Award out of thousands of companies throughout the world!  It was a huge honor for our Deserved Comfort team and it was awesome to be recognized among our peers in the cleaning industry.  Deserved Comfort was also a runner up for “Best Website” and “Best Logo”.

This year’s convention was a great success and I learned so much, just like I do each year.  I am blessed to have the opportunity to attend and to be in attendance with other cleaning service owners from all over the world!  Looking forward to 2019!
